Sunday May 4 - Jane’s Walk Weekend
Looking for a meaningful way to spend your Sunday morning? Join local guides Pam and Diane, for a Jane’s Walk along the South Humber River this Sunday, May 4th, from 9:00–10:30 a.m. starting at Old Mill Station (bus bay).
This walk is part of the 20th annual Jane’s Walk Festival, celebrating the legacy of legendary urbanist Jane Jacobs with over 150 community-led walks happening across Toronto this weekend. Discover the rich history of the Humber—Toronto’s largest river—as you hear stories of the ancient Indigenous village of Teiaiagon, the Carrying Place Trail, early colonial settlements, and rare spring flora in Magwood Sanctuary.
The walk wraps up with coffee and conversation at the Old Mill hotel. A perfect mix of history, nature, and neighbourly connection!

Tuesday May 6 - Silverthorn C.I. - An Evening With Michael Landsberg
Mark your calendars — Michael Landsberg is coming to Etobicoke! On Tuesday, May 6th from 6:00–9:00 p.m., Silverthorn Collegiate Institute will host a free Mental Health Awareness Event, open to all members of the community. This important evening will feature a keynote by mental health advocate and former TSN host Michael Landsberg, whose powerful personal storytelling has helped break down stigma across the country. Local mental health organizations will be on-site offering information and support, and there will be free resources for families, students, and educators to take home. With door prizes, coffee, and community connection, it’s an opportunity to come together, learn, and show up for youth mental health in Etobicoke. Whether you're a parent, student, educator, or concerned neighbour—you're invited.
