Post 100
After a brief summer break, The Etobicoke Voice is coming back (and yes this is the 100th post), refreshed and ready to bring you the news and stories that matter most to our community. As many of you may have heard, there's a strong possibility we could be heading into a provincial election much sooner than expected.
In light of this, I want to ensure that my coverage aligns with the issues that are most important to you, the residents of Etobicoke. To help with this, I’ve created a brief survey to gather your thoughts and concerns. Whether it’s housing, healthcare, education, or something else entirely, your input will help guide the topics we focus on in the coming months.
Please take a few minutes to share your insights and let’s make sure our voices are heard loud and clear in the next election. Thank you for being a part of this community, I’m excited to continue this journey with you!

Update
If you are a paid subscriber you will be once again be receiving weekly updates on the news affecting Etobicoke from of City Hall and longer posts bi-weekly starting the week of Sept 15.
We will be taking a deeper dive into City Hall politics and local concerns this fall including; systemic racism in local politics, the female perspective in advocacy, the divide between inner-suburbs and the downtown core, and a closer look at the housing crisis right here in Etobicoke.
If you would like to make sure you get to be a part of these ongoing in-depth conversations, please consider becoming a paid subscriber if this is something you are able to do. The work involved in longer more investigative pieces is a labour of love but also any monetary costs involved are out of pocket which can make this work more challenging at times.
I thank you all for your continued support and kind words that remind me when I most need it that my words are connecting and making a difference! Writing and posting stories can sometimes be lonely work and when I run into readers in person who comment on a story or issue they saw on these page, the appreciation I feel is out of this world! Local voices get lost without local media and this is why I am determined to keep up this newsletter and make sure that our communities stay connected even if we don’t always agree on everything all the time. The more connected we are the more we can learn to come together when things come up that affect us all and require neighbours to work towards solutions that are bigger than just one person.
Hopefully one day soon (sometime before I hit post # 200) together we can extend The Etobicoke Voice into a small limited edition monthly print edition to extend these connections to those in our communities who may prefer to read offline. This is a hope and not yet a plan but sometimes just writing a thought brings it one step closer to reality.
See you soon in post #101!
