Saturday, June 21 | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Fairfield Park – 90 Lothian Avenue, Etobicoke
It started the way many beautiful things do — quietly.
A folding table. A few pitchers of lemonade. A hot June day. A group of neighbourhood kids who wanted to help.
There was no grand plan, no big event name. Just a simple hope that they could do something kind.
That small act of generosity — one glass at a time — became the seed of something extraordinary.
Ten years later, Lemonade for Love has become a community tradition here in Etobicoke. One that brings us together, not just to sip something sweet, but to be something sweet — for our neighbours, for our kids, for families who need us.
This Saturday morning, it returns for its 10th anniversary, and you’re invited.
It’s Still About the Same Thing: Kids Helping Kids
The lemonade is delicious. The music is joyful. The atmosphere is bright and buzzing.
But at its core, Lemonade for Love has always been about one thing: #kidshelpingkids.
Every dollar raised supports the Captain Xavier Fund at Silver Creek Preschool, a therapy and preschool centre for children with special needs and complex medical conditions. The fund covers supports and services that public funding doesn’t — things like extra therapy, equipment, support workers, and scholarships for families in need.
It’s a reminder that care should never be conditional. Every child deserves the chance to thrive.
The Legacy of a Local Boy Named Xavier
The fund — and much of this event’s spirit — is inspired by Xavier, a young boy from this community who lived with a rare genetic condition called Sandhoff disease.
Xavier passed away at the age of 12. He never spoke a word in his life, but his impact was profound. His strength, his joy, and his quiet determination continue to ripple outward in the work done in his name.
The stand may be run by little hands. But its roots run deep.
What to Expect This Saturday
From 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Fairfield Park, the neighbourhood will come alive with:
Live kids' music from the Kingsway School of Music
Performances by local singer-songwriters
The always-popular Hammer to Nail activity table
Sweet treats, lemonade, and lots of laughter
An atmosphere that is completely inclusive, welcoming, and joyful
It’s a take-what-you-want, give-what-you-can event — no pressure, no tickets, just community.
The Ambassadors Who Lead the Way
One of the most powerful parts of this event is watching young people take the lead.
Every year, a team of youth ambassadors helps make the event happen — by delivering flyers, spreading the word on social media, and inviting friends at school.
They don’t need titles. They’re not waiting for adulthood to make a difference. They’re already doing it — one invite, one lemonade cup, one act of kindness at a time.
It’s their way of saying: we see each other, we show up, and we care.

How to Support
Even if you can’t make it, there are still ways to help:
Share the story — Online or in person. Stories like this are fuel for the soul.
Follow @lemonadeforlove and help amplify their message.
Invite someone — A friend, a neighbour, a grandparent, a coworker with kids.
One small action can lead to a big ripple. After all, that’s how this all started.
This Saturday, whether you come for the lemonade, the music, or just to feel that unmistakable hum of a neighbourhood showing up — we hope you’ll be part of it.
We say we want to live in a world that’s kinder, more connected, more fair.
This is that world — in a park, with music and hammers and sidewalk chalk and kids holding signs.
See you there.
