Each year, the Toronto District School Board (TDSB) must balance its budget while navigating funding shortfalls, shifting priorities, and provincial policies that affect how money is allocated. With rising costs, growing student needs, and aging school infrastructure, what should be prioritized? How can parents, students, and educators make sure their concerns are addressed in the decision-making process?
To help answer these questions, I have invited TDSB Ward 2 Trustee Dan Maclean to join us for a discussion on the 2025-26 budget process—how it works, the biggest challenges ahead, and how the community can get involved.
What We’ll Discuss
How the TDSB budget is developed and key decision-making timelines
The biggest financial challenges facing our local schools
How budget choices affect students, teachers, and families in Etobicoke
This is an opportunity to hear directly from a TDSB Trustee, ask questions, and share your concerns. Whether you're a parent, student, teacher, or engaged community member, this conversation is for you.
Submit Your Questions in Advance!
When you register, you’ll have the option to submit a question for Trustee Dan Maclean. We’ll do our best to include as many as possible in the live discussion. Please note that due to time we will may have to limit questions and so please submit before March 28th to make sure your questions are considered. Questions that are outside the jurisdiction of the Trustee might not be able to be answered in this session.
